Finnforest develops, manufactures and markets advanced, environmentally friendly wood-based solutions that help our customers to improve their competitiveness. By doing this, we also increase the grade of processing of the premium quality Nordic wood raw material to as high level as possible.
We are the leading wood product supplier in the following customer segments in particular:
- Commercial, public and residential building and construction
- Industrial customers, such as window, door and moulding manufacturers, other manufacturers serving building and construction, and the transport vehicle industry
- Interior decoration, renovation, garden and yard furnishing
The trend is that both industrial customers and consumers expect increasingly advanced product parts and components from suppliers. Climate and energy friendly solutions are another major growth area. In fact, the excellent technical and environmental performance of wood-based products will make wood an increasingly popular material in the future.
Our objective is to understand our customers’ business needs as well as possible. We provide a comprehensive service which covers the entire value chain from the procurement of the raw material that best suits the customer’s needs, to an advanced product range, efficient logistics and the most extensive local customer services on the market. Our raw material procurement is supported by our position as a core business of Finnish forest industry group Metsäliitto.
Our four business lines, complementary to each other, include Solid Wood, Engineered Wood, Building Products and Home and Living. We are an European forerunner in engineered wood products and solutions, investing in research and in the continuous development of products and know-how to meet increased customer requirements. Our development centre for engineered wood products is located at the Kerto® LVL mill in Lohja, and we develop innovative wooden structures at Finnforest Merk in Aichach, Germany. Development work related to special plywood is carried out at our new plywood upgrading mill in Suolahti, Finland. We are also the leading provider in wooden consumer products for interior decoration and garden and yard furnishing, and we actively develop products and services in this area according to consumer requirements in our main markets.
