Finns appreciate the sustainable use of forests also for the needs of forest industry. Forestry is practised everywhere in Finland, and due to the everyman's right, everyone has the chance to witness what this means in practice. The carbon in the forests is further absorbed in wood-based products, thereby increasing the level of wood construction can be considered an environmentally friendly act. By recycling wood-based products the carbon storage time can be prolonged. Once wood reaches the end of its life cycle, it can be utilised in energy production.
