Finnforest Kesto A treated timber is recommended when the product is in contact with the ground or water or when the construction needs specific and long-lasting weather resistance properties for safety reasons.
Finnforest Kesto A is treated with the same, but more active, preservative system which includes copper-based preservative as in Kesto HC3. Kesto A provides long protection against fungal decay, wood destroying insects and termite attacks. Kesto A is supplied in dimensions over 50 mm.
The wood preservative systems are applied under factory conditions in large treatment tanks. The preservatives are forced into the timber thus protecting the vulnerable sapwood zone.
When treated, the preserved timber will have a ‘greenish’ appearance that highlights the natural variations in the wood. Regular coating with a similar tone, such as green wood oil, can prolong its natural colour.
