Finnforest Kesto AB is recommended for use in applications above ground such as fencing, timber decking (terraces) and other landscaping and construction timbers.
Kesto AB is treated with a modern preservative system based on copper and an organic co-biocide (Alkaline Copper Quaternary), which provides protection against fungal decay, wood destroying insects and termite attacks.
The wood preservative systems are applied under factory conditions in large treatment tanks. The preservatives are forced into the timber thus protecting the vulnerable sapwood zone. When treated, the preserved timber will have a ‘greenish’ appearance that highlights the natural variations in the wood. Regular coating with a similar tone, such as green wood oil, can prolong its natural colour.
