Registered ThermoWood® trademark
Finnforest is a member of International ThermoWood Association (ITWA) and is entitled to use the registered trademark Finnforest ThermoWood® and the ITWA quality logo by fulfilling the requirements specified under the ThermoWood Concept. The concept creates an entirety that ensures the technical and ecological quality of products sold under the trademark ThermoWood®.

The ThermoWood Concept consists of:
- Thermal modification process patented by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland
- Registered trademark
- Audited quality control system including receiving and the inspection of the quality of the raw material, the process parameters of the thermal modification process and the quality control of wood after modification
- Life cycle assessment (LCA) proves that ThermoWood is an ecological building material when considering production as well as the use and disposal of the material at the end of its life cycle
- Certified raw material including requirements for forest management and chain-of-custody verification as well as the qualification criteria for external auditing
- Standardization including the CEN/TS 15679 Technical Specification for Thermal Modified Timber
- R&D activities
Certified product
ThermoWood External Cladding products are CE marked according to EN 14915:2006. CE-label can be found in every ThermoWood External Cladding package. Ask for detailed information about the CE-marking from your nearest sales office.

The material properties of Finnforest ThermoWood® are specified under the KOMO® product certificates 32917/07 and 32919/07 granted by SKH (Stichtung Keuringsbureau Hout). The product certificates are related to thermal modified Finnforest ThermoWood® products, Thermo-D Pine and Thermo-D Spruce. Quality control system audited by SKH guarantees the constant quality of Finnforest ThermoWood® products.

Environmental certificates
The raw material of ThermoWood is sourced from sustainably managed forests, which are fully certified under the Finnish Forestry Certification System and the Pan European Forest Certification (PEFC) – excellent ecological alternative to endangered rain forest species.
